About the position

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Day & Zimmermann is responsible for overseeing and managing the corporation's Quality Programs across various markets including Nuclear, Fossil, DOE, and Industrial. This role involves developing and maintaining an ISO-9001 program, ensuring quality activities are defined and implemented according to industry standards, and coordinating quality initiatives with business units. The position requires strong leadership and analytical skills to ensure the successful execution of quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, direction and oversight of the Quality Programs
• Develop and maintain an ISO-9001 program for D&Z
• Assure that ISO-9001 Quality activities for the company and suppliers are defined, planned, implemented and documented
• Coordinate Quality activities with business units and project organizations
• Ensure that Quality Program budgets, schedules and priorities are met
• Assist in the day to day operations of the corporation's Quality Programs
• Participate in internal and external audits and perform project surveillances as needed
• Provide assistance to the QA Manager for QA activities

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent experience
• 15 years Quality related experience
• Auditor or Lead Auditor preferred
• Analytical ability to grasp key factors from detailed specifications
• Effective verbal communication and report writing skills
• Working knowledge of construction industry Codes and Standards
• Good leadership capabilities to lead quality initiatives to successful completion
• Basic knowledge of applicable software to compile quality process data
• Familiar with the tools, concepts and methodologies of quality management
