About the position

The Sr. QA Engineer (Sr. Program Quality Engineer) at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is responsible for overseeing program quality requirements, identifying and mitigating program risks, and ensuring the timely and accurate submission of customer deliverable documentation. This role involves analyzing program defects, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing process improvements to enhance product quality. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and drive quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program quality requirements and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and mitigate program risks, ensuring timely submission of customer deliverable documentation.
• Analyze program defects and conduct root cause analysis to eliminate defects and improve product quality.
• Develop and implement methods for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.
• Collaborate with supplier representatives on quality problems and contribute to supplier quality improvement programs.
• Perform internal quality kick-off meetings for new programs and track quality support labor hours.
• Participate in Integrated Product Team meetings with internal and external customers.
• Conduct audits of production processes and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.
• Lead corrective action teams to determine root causes and corrective actions for nonconformances.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in general Engineering or specialized Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in a relevant function.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering-related degree.
• Relevant Program Quality Engineering experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace/Aviation, Automotive industry.
• ISO9001:2015 Lead auditor or AS9100D Lead Auditor certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Certified Quality Engineer certification.
• Strong Mechanical Background.
