About the position

The Sr. Program Quality Engineer (Sr. QA Engineer) at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is responsible for overseeing program quality requirements, identifying and mitigating program risks, and ensuring the timely and accurate submission of customer deliverable documentation. This role involves analyzing program defects, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing process improvements to enhance product quality. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and drive quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program quality requirements and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Identify and mitigate program risks to maintain quality standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of Customer Deliverable Documentation Requirements.
• Conduct trend analysis and root cause analysis to eliminate defects.
• Develop and implement methods for process control and improvement.
• Design and install testing equipment for product testing and analysis.
• Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues and corrective actions.
• Lead corrective action teams for product or process nonconformances.
• Participate in Integrated Product Team meetings with internal and external customers.
• Conduct audits of production processes and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in general Engineering or specialized Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in a relevant function.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Relevant Program Quality Engineering experience in Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace/Aviation, or Automotive industries.
• ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor or AS9100D Lead Auditor certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Certified Quality Engineer certification.
• Strong Mechanical Background.
• Experience with SharePoint, TipQA, Soft Expert, and Minitab.
