About the position

This Sr. QA Engineer is an expert quality assurance tester for UKG Advanced Scheduling at Cox Automotive. They are responsible for performing quality assurance duties and providing testing expertise, guidance, and oversight. The Sr. QA Engineer establishes test scenarios, test cases, and test data and then executes the test cases and documents the results. Cox Automotive with Manheim auctions is the world's largest used vehicle marketplace. We are embarking on an exciting journey as we transform our time and pay management capabilities from our current Kronos system to take advantage of the broader advanced capabilities of UKG Pro Workforce Management. This transformation brings the opportunity to modernize the end-to-end scheduling process, which varies by the 70+ individual auction locations with limited technology benefits. The deployment of UKG Pro Workforce Management and its advanced scheduling capabilities brings an incredible opportunity to improve the everyday experience for our front-line team members and their managers. The Sr. Quality Engineer will work with a cross-functional scrum team to test the application functionality using Scaled Agile Framework methodology. They will create the test scenarios and test cases with input from stakeholders and the scrum team. Teams will include product owners, application, software, and quality assurance engineers. As the solution nears launch, they will support functional, integration, and user acceptance testing. This role serves as an expert tester on UKG Pro Workforce Management (UKG Pro WFM) to execute WFM workloads, such as forecasting models, client implementation (schedule changes, optimization, hours increases/reductions), and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • UKG WFM Scheduling and Advanced scheduling testing experience (formerly known as Dimensions).
  • Drives test strategy conversations and defines individual test cases, integrated end-to-end test scenarios and validation criteria.
  • Analyzes user stories and technical requirements for validity.
  • Ensures system and application quality by writing, maintaining, running, and analyzing the family of tests (unit, functional, integrated, regression, and potentially automated, and performance).
  • Analyzes and synthesizes actual results compared to expected results, troubleshoots and assists in the diagnosis of unintended results, and logs defects to investigate cause.
  • Documents and communicates test results to stakeholders.
  • Supports user acceptance testing and coordinates testing activities with remote teams.
  • Leads troubleshooting of problems and assists in getting problems appropriately prioritized, assigned, fixed, tested, and closed.
  • Participates in the applicable delivery ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning meetings, and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Workforce Management (WFM) scheduling tools.
  • Working experience with software testing tools (qTest) and processes, and testing framework.
  • Working understanding of UKG Workforce Management Pro (formerly known as UKG Dimensions).
  • Experience testing UKG Workforce Management Pro or similar advanced scheduling tools (Nice or Aspect).
  • Working experience creating and maintaining test scripts.
  • Ability to understand and articulate various internal and external customer needs.
  • Proven self-starter who can proactively engage with their peer base.
  • Working collaboratively with product, agile leaders, scrum team members, and business stakeholders.
  • Working experience in agile delivery methodology.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Self-directed problem solver with a demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years' related experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as Master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 16 years' experience in a related field.
