About the position

As a Senior QA Engineer at Honeywell, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement quality strategies, drive test automation initiatives, and enhance software development processes. You will report to the QA Manager and work in a hybrid environment from either Pittsford, NY or Framingham, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the quality strategy and roadmap for the organization
  • Define comprehensive test strategies and test plans in collaboration with development and product management teams
  • Drive test automation initiatives and increase test coverage through automation
  • Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate testing tools and frameworks
  • Oversee the execution of test cases, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing
  • Monitor and manage the test tracking process, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders
  • Analyze defect trends to improve software quality and identify areas for process improvement
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and enhance testing processes
  • Implement and measure key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of testing efforts
  • Assist QA Manager in the identification of risks, risk management, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successfully qualified solutions
  • Generate and communicate test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance
  • Strong experience in software testing, test planning, test case design, and test execution

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, techniques, and best practices using both black-box and white-box approaches; familiarity with functional, performance, and scalability testing
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks, with a track record of implementing test automation strategies at the Database, API, and Presentation/UI layers
  • Familiarity with industry-standard QA and testing tools, such as Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms
  • Strong scripting and programming skills, often with languages like Python, Java, or others, depending on the technology stack
  • Experience working in a CI/CD DevOps environment like Jenkins or GIT for executing automated tests
  • Strong problem-solving and thoughtful skills to identify root causes of defects and issues, and to optimize testing processes
  • A high standard of performance, attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
