About the position

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Sr QA Tester for an opportunity in Minneapolis, MN. This position is a contract role that offers the flexibility of remote work, although candidates ideally should reside in Minnesota. The anticipated start date for this position is October 8, 2024, but this date is subject to change. BCforward will provide official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. The expected duration of the contract is over 6 months, and the pay range for this role is between $60 and $70 per hour, depending on various factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities. As a Sr QA Tester, you will be an integral member of an agile team, participating actively in the QA processes. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and clarifying requirements, identifying and planning work efforts using test estimation techniques, and creating and executing test plans, scripts, and scenarios. You will collaborate with team members to build test cases and scripts, log and track issues and defects through to resolution, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Go Live activities. Additionally, you will leverage Test Data Management for identifying and consuming data, and you will be expected to facilitate testing meetings, summarize results, report issues and defects, maintain metrics, and provide go/no-go recommendations. The role requires a strong understanding of QA processes and the ability to innovate in testing approaches, especially during challenging timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate on agile team as QA member.
  • Review and clarify requirements.
  • Identify and plan work effort by using test estimation techniques.
  • Create and execute test plans/scripts/scenarios.
  • Collaborate with team members on building test cases/scripts.
  • Log and track issues/defects through to resolution.
  • Support UAT and Go Live activities.
  • Leverage Test Data Management for identifying and consuming data.
  • Facilitate testing meetings, summarize results, issue/defect reporting, maintain metrics and provide go/no go recommendation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of QA testing experience.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or other Test Suite tools.
  • Ability to handle delivery with minimum guidance.
  • Good at handling multiple initiatives in parallel.
  • Detail oriented and a problem solver.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong experience in UI, API and DB testing.
  • Ability to create and execute complex SQL queries.
  • Postman/Swagger experience.
  • Snowflake experience.
  • PI/PO or middleware testing experience.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
