About the position

The position involves managing the entire sales process from start to finish, focusing on a named account sales territory. The role requires developing and maintaining relationships with defined target named accounts and executing the major steps of the sales process, which includes finding new business opportunities, qualifying them, analyzing, creating proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing new business. Additionally, the candidate will provide inputs and participate in marketing events such as trade shows and webinars, leverage their sales network to develop leads, and lead new product introductions in both international and domestic markets. The role demands the ability to multi-task and set priorities in a dynamic environment while protecting and maintaining control of proprietary and confidential company and customer information. Travel to customers and reporting offices in the Bay Area is required, and the candidate must ensure compliance with the company's export control program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire sales process from start to finish
  • Prospecting into a named account sales territory
  • Develop and maintain relationships with defined target named accounts
  • Execute against the major steps of the sales process including finding new business opportunities, qualifying new opportunities, analyzing, creating proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing new business
  • Provide inputs/ideas and participate in marketing events (trade shows, webinars, etc.)
  • Leverage sales network to develop leads
  • Lead new product introduction in international or domestic markets
  • Multi-task and set priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Protect and maintain control of proprietary and confidential company and customer information
  • Travel to customers and reporting offices in the Bay Area

Requirements

  • 12+ years of sales experience in optical communications, optoelectronics, or networking
  • BS/BA or equivalent (preferably in Science or Engineering)
  • Good organization skills
  • Strong motivation
  • Good inter-personal skills for interfacing with customers and other departments
  • Good analytical skills for problem solving
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Excellent PC skills and software application (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
