About the position

We are seeking a full-time Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team at either our Rochester Hills, Michigan, or Lisle, Illinois location. As a Senior Reliability and Validation Engineer, you will be part of a highly qualified team of engineers dedicated to delivering the best products and services to our customers. Your role will involve developing effective reliability and validation strategies while collaborating closely with experts in the field. In this position, you will be responsible for establishing clear reliability requirements during the product design phase by collaborating with stakeholders. You will interface with both internal teams and customers to align on reliability expectations and ensure that targets are met. Regular cross-functional team meetings will be hosted with Design, Test, and Simulation engineers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve reliability issues throughout the product lifecycle. You will develop and communicate precise execution strategies and test instructions to the test labs for flawless validation. Creating reliability test plans for Automotive Sensors based on product design validation requirements will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will leverage methods such as binomial distribution for sample size estimation and stress life curves to correlate with field life. Additionally, you will take ownership of DVP&R across all design phases by overseeing testing and validation timelines and coordinating across labs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure project reliability and validation milestones are met. You will track progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders. Incorporating reliability methods such as accelerated life, degradation, and run-to-failure testing into test plans will be crucial to ensure products meet or exceed customer reliability and durability requirements. You will perform reliability analysis and risk assessments to identify potential failure modes and recommend remedial strategies. Furthermore, you will develop, maintain, and enhance reliability models for overall sensor systems, including Arrhenius, Weibull, and exponential distribution, to predict product reliability and estimate lifetime across different platforms or technologies. Specifics will include PCB, Passive and Active Components, and Mechanical Components. Analyzing test results, identifying trends, and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders will be part of your duties, along with producing comprehensive reliability reports, including failure analysis reports and failure rate predictions (i.e., FIT, MTTF).
