About the position

The Senior Reliability Engineer at Milwaukee Tool plays a crucial role in the New Product Development team, focusing on the development and qualification of power tool products. This position requires advanced engineering skills to define test methods and product requirements, ensuring the creation of durable and market-leading products. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with various teams to enhance product reliability and quality.

Responsibilities

• Be a subject matter expert in the New Product Development team regarding test methods, product requirements, user needs, and reliability.
• Develop Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements through collaboration with Product Management and participation in User Needs Research.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing to define product specifications related to reliability, quality, and user needs.
• Design experimental techniques to improve development and testing efforts.
• Lead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) for new product development projects during the product development cycle.
• Interact with global suppliers involved in product development.
• Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool process.
• Develop new test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirements.
• Perform Data Analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test data.
• Summarize test results using statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusions.
• Ensure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA).
• Effectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratories.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field with 5 years of experience in similar reliability, test, or quality roles.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as Design Of Experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, Failure Mode Engineering Analysis, hypothesis testing, etc.
• Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analytics, and related software (e.g. Python, nCode Glyphworks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW).
• Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++).
• Experience in troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and automating tests/measurements and analysis.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities.
