About the position

The Sr. Representative, Facilities is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable workplace environment at the Jacksonville, NC site. This role requires a hands-on approach to perform a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks related to the maintenance, alteration, and repair of the building, grounds, and associated facilities and equipment. The representative will utilize a range of hand and power tools and may work independently or as part of a team, coordinating with skilled trades services as necessary. A significant aspect of the role involves planning preventive maintenance and scheduling work activities, identifying equipment or systems that require repair, replacement, or upgrade, and assisting in the selection of maintenance equipment and materials needed for these tasks. Additionally, the representative will play an active role in space reconfigurations, with approximately 50% of their duties focused on facilities management. In addition to facilities management, the Sr. Representative will also be involved in security-related tasks, which may include monitoring and maintaining security systems such as badges, access systems, and CCTV cameras, accounting for about 20% of the role's responsibilities. Administrative duties, which comprise around 30% of the position, include tracking site expenses, processing invoices, and generating reports using basic PowerPoint and Excel skills. The representative will also be responsible for assembling and installing various office fixtures, coordinating with trades for emergency generator testing and HVAC repairs, and responding to critical equipment alarms during and after business hours. Other responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, assisting with janitorial functions, and managing the procurement and distribution of maintenance supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and functional workplace environment.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance, alteration, and repair tasks.
  • Plan preventive maintenance and work activities schedule.
  • Identify equipment or systems for repair, replacement, or upgrade.
  • Assist in space reconfigurations.
  • Monitor and maintain security-related systems including badges and CCTV cameras.
  • Track and document site expenses and invoices.
  • Assemble and install office fixtures and furnishings.
  • Coordinate with trades for emergency generator testing and HVAC repairs.
  • Respond to critical equipment alarms during regular and after hours.
  • Apply paint to building interiors and fixtures.
  • Replace minor electrical fixtures and arrange for servicing and repair.
  • Assist in janitorial functions as needed.
  • Order, store, and distribute maintenance and office supplies.
  • Control general access to the facility and monitor security cameras.
  • Generate attendance reports and conduct monthly audits on security badges.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of building maintenance experience with a range of skills.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and practices in building maintenance work.
  • Ability to perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair work in plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC, and fire safety systems.
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform fundamental arithmetic calculations.
  • Basic computer skills related to data entry and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Must have a driver's license and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
