About the position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Sr. Research Analyst for Robotics, a pivotal role that requires a PhD in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience and a Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible). This position is located in College Park, MD, and is integral to supporting the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, specifically within the Maintaining Technology Advantage Branch. The successful candidate will provide critical support in protecting our country by leveraging their expertise in robotics and human-machine interfaces. In this role, you will maintain subject matter expertise in robotics and human-machine interfaces, offering SME support to analysts in the development of critical, time-sensitive products. You will be responsible for the development of strategic products, such as technology area protection plans, specifically focused on human-machine interfaces. Collaboration with a team of other SMEs and analysts is essential to meet short deadlines and deliver high-quality products. Additionally, you will evaluate protection strategies to defend U.S. investments from foreign attempts at technology transfer, ensuring that our technological advantages are maintained. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • PhD in Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related subject
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI-Eligibility
  • Experience with Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and/or human-machine interfaces
