The Senior Research Analyst position within the Institutional Planning and Research department is a critical role that focuses on conducting strategic analyses and program evaluations to support the office of the Provost. This position is primarily responsible for evaluating and assessing student academic progress, retention and graduation rates, and overall student outcomes. The Senior Research Analyst will play a key role in assessing the impact of various university initiatives aimed at enhancing both undergraduate and graduate education. In this role, the Senior Research Analyst will be tasked with developing comprehensive university-wide datasets, designing research methodologies, creating and testing survey instruments, conducting focus groups, and analyzing data. The analyst will interpret results, develop visualizations, and prepare detailed written reports and presentations to communicate findings effectively. Collaboration is essential, as the analyst will work closely with deans from each college, academic programs, advising, student affairs, and other staff within the Provost Office to design, coordinate, and conduct independent studies and assessments. Additionally, the Senior Research Analyst will engage with analysts from peer universities and participate in national studies aimed at increasing college access and degree completion. This position requires a strong focus on developing, supporting, maintaining, and analyzing institutional databases, which include student enrollment and degree census files, longitudinal survey data, state performance metrics, course evaluations, and learning assessments. The analyst will also utilize and contribute to national and peer datasets, such as the National Student Loan Clearinghouse and the Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange, to provide external benchmarks for analysis.
