About the position

The Sr. Research Analyst will assist the University Conflict of Interest Officers in implementing financial conflict of interest policies for individuals and the institution. This role involves evaluating external financial relationships, investigating potential conflicts, and presenting findings to the University Conflict of Interest Committee. The position requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to navigate sensitive issues within the university environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a sound understanding of the University conflict of interest policies and applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Interacts with University senior administrative officials, faculty, staff, and students about sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Reviews external financial interests reported by senior administrative officials, faculty, staff, and students to determine if they require review by the University Conflict of Interest Committee.
  • Reviews financial interests held by the University to assess if they require review by the University Conflict of Interest Committee.
  • Researches potential conflicts and summarizes their impact and risks to the University for the Conflict of Interest Committee.
  • Attends Conflict of Interest Committee meetings and provides written and verbal summaries of evaluated potential conflicts.
  • Assists the Conflict of Interest Committee in managing, reducing, or eliminating financial conflicts of interest as appropriate.
  • Assists in collecting information related to compliance with University Conflict of Interest Policies and management plans.
  • Provides training to the University community about financial conflict of interest policies and procedures.
  • Assists users with navigating the electronic disclosure system and facilitates communication with related offices.
  • Assists with the development and testing of software and databases for managing financial conflicts of interest.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalency; plus four years related research experience.
  • Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
