The Senior Research Assistant at Lifespan Health System plays a crucial role in conducting scientific investigative research related to participant care. The Senior Research Assistant is responsible for researching literature in the relevant field, participating in the design of experimental protocols, and developing new procedures to meet established research objectives. This role involves direct interaction with research participants, including interviewing them to gather necessary information, preparing and maintaining study records, and entering data into computer systems for analysis. In addition to data entry, the Senior Research Assistant performs statistical analyses of the collected data, participating in both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The role may also involve assisting in the writing of presentations and papers for publication based on the research findings. The position may require performing physiological monitoring tests, such as PSG, and taking vital signs during research-based assessments. Furthermore, the Senior Research Assistant may be tasked with performing saliva and blood spinning, as well as shipping tissue samples as required by specific research protocols. The Senior Research Assistant collaborates closely with the research investigator to design experimental protocols that align with the scientific objectives of the research project. This includes developing methodologies that allow for both quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the data obtained. The role also requires establishing and maintaining study records for each participant, facilitating informed consent, and ensuring adherence to research protocols. Regular monitoring of protocol compliance is essential, and the Senior Research Assistant must take appropriate actions to address any discrepancies.
