The laboratory of Dr. Jotham Suez at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a Sr. Research Data Analyst with extensive experience in analyzing biological data, particularly in the field of microbiome analysis. This position is part of a hybrid experimental-computational team that utilizes big data, including metagenomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics, to study the microbiome and virome in relation to human health and disease. As a Sr. Research Data Analyst, you will collaborate closely with members of the Suez Lab to tackle significant questions that lie at the intersection of basic sciences and public health. Your role will involve analyzing large-scale datasets using advanced bioinformatic tools, developing and implementing novel computational approaches for data analysis, and interpreting and presenting complex biological data to facilitate discovery. Additionally, you will mentor and advise on the statistical and computational aspects of experimental design, and you will have the opportunity to lead independent, computationally focused projects. Candidates for this position should possess a degree in a relevant subject with a strong analytical component, such as bioinformatics, statistics, molecular biology, or mathematics, and should have an established track record in microbiome research, evidenced by publications or preprints. The position offers flexibility in terms of work arrangements, allowing for remote, hybrid, or in-person work, and can be full-time or part-time. The Suez Lab is committed to fostering a collegial, welcoming, and inclusive environment for scientists from diverse backgrounds, and encourages individuals from underrepresented groups in biomedicine to apply.
