About the position

As a Sr. Resident Engineer (Rail Systems) at Jacobs, you will oversee the construction supervision of roadway and structural improvements in Seattle, WA. This role involves extensive interface management with stakeholders and contractors, ensuring that construction projects are executed safely and accurately according to contract and permitting requirements. You will lead a team, monitor project progress, and maintain high standards of safety and quality in construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of the construction process to ensure compliance with contract and permitting requirements.
• Lead a team in monitoring the progress of construction projects and advising on necessary steps to achieve project goals.
• Manage and direct support staff and site inspectors for project supervision.
• Report on project progress, safety, financial projections, quality control, and changes in contract work.
• Develop trusted relationships with the project team, contractor, and client's staff.
• Emphasize safe construction practices and maintain high quality standards on site.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Manager in an Engineering, Environmental, or Construction organization.
• Proven experience with large rail systems transit projects, including Automatic Train Control (ATC) and Communications Based Train Control (CBTC).
• Strong knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, team building, and client relationships.
• Valid driver's license and good driving history.
