About the position

The Sr. Resilience Manager for AMER Risk & Resilience at Amazon is responsible for enabling comprehensive security risk preparedness and response processes. This role focuses on building resiliency capabilities to help the organization cope with various threats, events, and hazards that could jeopardize Amazon's people, operations, assets, and brand across North and South America.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead large-scale/crisis event coordination efforts across multiple organizations to minimize operational disruption.
  • Implement detailed resilience frameworks, standards, and programs for risk identification, assessment, and management.
  • Support the business with analytical deep dives to identify root causes of loss, risks, and security breaches, determining additional mitigations and corrective actions.
  • Train, advise, and partner with other functions in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks through robust standards and processes.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish clear goals, objectives, and performance delivery outcomes as well as timelines.
  • Support planning and response with internal teams and manage relationships with business units and functions.
  • Build a resilient organization to respond to a range of events that may pose risk to people, operations, assets, and brand.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Project management and delivery experience.
  • Experience in Crisis Management or Business Continuity programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple, competing deadlines, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of business leadership and staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • A security/risk management industry certification (ASIS CPP, CSMP).
  • Advanced degree in a related field (International Relations, Risk management, Political Science, Business Intelligence, Business Continuity or Resilience, etc.).
  • Experience with continuous improvement cycles and analytical methodology.
  • Familiarity with risk, business continuity, and data management platforms (BSI, Audit board, etc.).
  • Familiarity with geo-spatial tools and platforms (ArcGIS, ESRI, Palantir, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French.
