About the position

The Senior Revenue Analyst at the American Heart Association plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with revenue recognition GAAP guidance and managing accounts receivable processes. This position involves collaboration with various partners to support revenue reporting and cash handling, while also providing analytical insights and process improvements. The role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence 2 to 3 days a week, and is grant funded until June 30, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide support to critical partners related to revenue, accounts receivable, cash/ACH, and credit card transactions.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with BT and Treasury on revenue reporting to ensure accuracy in recording revenue from various online fundraising platforms.
  • Assist with external relationships on payment platforms such as PayPal, Stripe, Facebook, Amazon Pay, and Payeezy.
  • Review lockbox check headers for checks received at the National Center.
  • Initiate and complete process improvements.
  • Monitor bank and credit card transactions for fluctuations.
  • Prepare and analyze Accounts Receivable activities and reports, providing quarterly and annual AR reserve analyses.
  • Establish and adhere to a strong internal control environment, ensuring information security related to cash receipts and adherence to PCI regulations.
  • Prepare assigned monthly/quarterly analyses and reconciliations, adhering to prescribed deadlines.
  • Manage the electronic invoicing process.
  • Assist with monthly region Accounting Liaison calls.
  • Assist with campaign and other reporting required by Development and leadership.
  • Provide ad hoc analyses and assist management on projects as required.
  • Prepare and review assigned annual Audit work papers in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in general accounting operations with exposure to cash handling and accounts receivable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in finance or accounting computer applications (JD Edwards Enterprise One).
  • Ability to meet and adhere to strict deadlines and compliance policies.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and interpret findings.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide simple interpretation of accounting practices.
  • Comprehensive customer service skills and ability to interact with varying levels of authority and knowledge.
