About the position

The Sr Sales Compensation Analyst at Republic Services, Inc. plays a pivotal role in managing the sales commission plans for over 1,500 sales associates. This position is integral to the end-to-end processing of monthly commission payments using Xactly Incent, which encompasses various responsibilities such as data processing, validation, troubleshooting, and providing end-user support. The analyst will also be involved in ongoing system maintenance, analysis, process improvement, and business support, making it essential for candidates to possess strong technical skills and a passion for analytical work in a dynamic environment. In this role, the analyst will support the development and deployment of the sales compensation strategy in collaboration with the compensation team and business leadership. They will work closely with sales vertical leadership to ensure that existing compensation plans effectively incentivize behaviors that align with the overall sales strategy. As the primary point of contact for monthly and quarterly sales commission payments, the analyst will ensure compliance with documented plans while proactively developing and standardizing processes and workflows around the compensation system. Additionally, the analyst will provide support and education to field staff and leadership regarding sales commission processing and will play a key role in the sales compensation governance model by driving ownership and accountability. The position also involves assisting in the configuration of the sales compensation management system to align with commission plan documents and supporting continuous process improvement through automation, root-cause analysis, auditing, modeling, and validation. Other job-related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing development and deployment of the sales compensation strategy in partnership with the compensation team and business leadership.
  • Partner closely with sales vertical leadership to ensure existing plans incentivize behaviors aligned to the sales strategy.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for monthly/quarterly sales commission payments to approximately 1,500 sales associates in compliance with documented plans.
  • Proactively and collaboratively develop and standardize processes and workflows around the compensation system.
  • Provide support and education to field staff and leadership pertaining to sales commission processing.
  • Support the sales compensation governance model by driving ownership and accountability.
  • Assist in the configuration of the sales compensation management system to align with commission plan documents.
  • Constantly support process improvement through automation, root-cause analysis, auditing, modeling, and validation.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Compensation, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Sales Administration or related field.
  • Experience with Incentive Compensation software, i.e. Xactly Incent.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Trustworthy; maintains the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management, both internally and externally.
