About the position

The Sr Sales Development Representative for Personal Lines in the Los Angeles Territory is responsible for maintaining and building relationships with the agency force. This role serves as the primary liaison to the agency partners, focusing on increasing sales, managing profitability, training agents on company systems and products, and prospecting new agency partners. The position requires regular agency visits, market analysis, and participation in training and recruitment activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plans for agency visits by setting up weekly schedules, reviewing agency production and profitability levels, and establishing agendas.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations to management concerning market conditions, service levels, and effectiveness of Company programs.
  • Responds to telephone and written correspondence, comments, questions, and concerns from agents and/or customers.
  • Assists management with special assignments outside of established responsibilities.
  • Participates in advanced studies through seminars/courses to contribute and apply expanded knowledge.
  • Assists with interviews and/or trains newly hired employees as needed.
  • Establishes a path to achieve semi-annual/annual production goals while managing profitability.
  • Reviews and monitors agent production reports, loss ratios, and holds performance discussions to improve and drive new business growth.
  • Promotes products and programs to ensure understanding of Company philosophy, procedures, and practices.
  • Gathers competitor intel.
  • Attends Regional and State meetings, group conventions, and/or agent-related tradeshows as needed.
  • Interviews and recruits agents for agency appointments, analyzing current business operations to develop recommendations.
  • Shows initiative and the ability to resolve a variety of complex issues with minimal supervision from their leader.
  • Manages occasional overnight travel as required by territorial responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing, especially in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
