As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in marketing and selling Carrier Applied and Industrial HVAC products and solutions to current and potential customers within the central Indiana territory. This position requires a focus on innovation and development, combining technical knowledge with strong social skills to effectively communicate with partners and customers. In this dynamic work environment, you will be responsible for achieving annual sales, gross margin, and market share targets set by management. You will lead and grow your assigned territory and business through existing and new accounts by identifying potential customers and building solid long-term relationships. Your role will involve routine calls to support customers, including Mechanical Contractors, Consulting Engineering firms, and Facility Owners/Developers such as School Districts, Universities, Hospitals, and Private Corporations. You will assist with bid day operations, handle post-sale submittal and order entry work, execute take-offs and quotes, and promote Carrier's line card of products. Additionally, you will attend trade shows and marketing events, supporting local educational efforts. Once the equipment has shipped to the customer, you will assist with project management duties, including cash collection and accounts receivable responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of sales experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in applied HVAC equipment, preferably in sales.
  • Knowledge of HVAC design and application tools.
  • Controls experience.
  • PE Certification desired, LEED AP accreditation.
  • Extraordinary interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
