About the position

Ingram Micro is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer specializing in AWS to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal as it serves as a technical trusted advisor to our partners, working closely with their technical leadership teams and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will provide both technical and business guidance, offering recommendations on best practices that are essential for promoting successful partner engagements. This includes validating Proofs of Concept (POCs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and new solutions, as well as architecture designs that leverage vendor-specific programs, frameworks, funding, and incentives. The Senior Sales Engineer will demonstrate vision, creativity, business acumen, and deep technical knowledge in jointly developing industry and vertical partner solutions and strategies. This role champions partner activation and the development and growth of partner practices. The individual will also present and enable the partner community by participating in external events such as summits, webinars, and product launches. Additionally, the role involves providing upsell and cross-sell opportunities, along with guidance on deployment, execution, and implementation strategies to achieve technical and business outcomes throughout the sales lifecycle. This is a field-based pre-sales and technical role focused on reseller/partners and is part of the Services organization. To excel in this position, candidates should have a proven track record of successfully facilitating and enabling technical solution sales of AWS services and solutions to partners and their downstream end customers. Familiarity with the technical sales lifecycle and the ability to leverage cross-functional teams for collaboration and closing opportunities is essential. A working understanding of AWS infrastructure architecture, design, implementation, funding programs, frameworks, and best practices is also required. The role involves preparing and delivering technical presentations to explain products or services to customers and prospective customers, as well as conferring with customers to assess their business and technical requirements. Candidates will need to plan and design solutions that meet customer needs and align with existing customer initiatives and infrastructure. They will recommend and explain proposed solutions, programs, high-level architecture designs, and benefits to partners and their downstream customers. Understanding market awareness that differentiates industry solutions is crucial. Experience with cloud technologies, on-prem technologies, cloud security, networking, and infrastructure, as well as how technology components interact at each layer of the OSI model, is necessary. The role requires current AWS certifications or the ability to obtain them within 90 days if not already certified.

Responsibilities

  • Assess business and technical requirements by conferring with customers and collaborating with sales teams.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of facilitating and enabling technical solution sales of AWS services and solutions to partners and their customers.
  • Familiarity with the technical sales lifecycle and leveraging cross-functional teams for collaboration.
  • Working understanding of AWS infrastructure architecture, design, implementation, and funding programs.
