About the position

As a Senior Sales Engineer at Rubrik, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical direction and business guidance to our regional sales team. This position is designed for a self-starter who is not only driven to exceed sales quotas but also passionate about driving innovative technical programs and pipeline generation. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives (AEs) to conduct customer demonstrations, proof of concepts (POCs), and manage day-to-day account-level activities. Your primary responsibility will be to evangelize, position, and architect Rubrik's cutting-edge products for a targeted list of new and existing strategic customer accounts in Arizona and Las Vegas. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and direction to both customers and internal staff, ensuring the development of fully integrated technology solutions that support pre-sales activities in your assigned market. You will assist in the analysis, design, and development of these solutions, demonstrating your technical expertise in Rubrik's products, distributed architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings within the SAN product space. As a trusted technology advisor, you will engage with customers, making technical and sales presentations to their technical staff and senior management, while also building strong relationships with the account team, partners, and customers to support sales objectives. Your ability to qualify sales opportunities based on customer technical requirements, competition, decision-making processes, and funding will be crucial to your success. This position not only requires a high level of technical knowledge but also a strong business acumen, particularly in working with CxO level personnel to bring technology solutions that address business challenges. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple calls and demos each day, and following up promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to customers and internal staff in the development of fully integrated technology solutions in support of pre-sales activities.
  • Assist in the analysis, design, and development of fully integrated technology solutions.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and subject matter expertise on Rubrik's products, distributed architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings in the SAN product space.
  • Act as a technical expert and consultant to develop and propose solutions that meet the technology and business requirements of assigned customers.
  • Make technical and sales presentations to customer's technical staff and senior management.
  • Serve as a trusted technology advisor to customers and an internal resource on technical issues or specific business applications within an assigned market segment.
  • Build relationships with the account team, partners, and customers in support of sales team objectives.
  • Lead technical sales calls and qualify sales opportunities based on customer technical requirements, competition, decision-making processes, and funding.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of sales engineering experience preferably in a software or data center environment.
  • Strong hands-on, 'can do' approach with a need for success and high energy.
  • Fundamental breadth of technical knowledge in cloud data management, backup and disaster recovery, and data analytics.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong work ethic and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple calls/demos per day with immediate follow-up.
  • High level of business acumen and experience working with CxO level personnel.
