About the position

The Sr Sales Operations Analyst at Thermo Fisher Scientific will play a crucial role in supporting the sales operations for the Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) and Clinical Next-Gen Sequencing Division (CSD). This position is integral to providing comprehensive sales operations support, which includes reporting, analytics, program tracking, and performance dashboards. The analyst will be responsible for conducting account-level business reviews and other sales operations-related functions as required. Reporting to a Senior Sales Operations Leader, the analyst will primarily focus on a specific group within the organization but may also assist other functions based on business needs and workload. This role requires collaboration across various departments, including Marketing, Finance, Sales Operations/Pricing, Compensation, IT/CRM, and multiple Business Units. The analyst will engage directly with the sales team to drive strategic account planning and provide actionable recommendations for decision-making. Presenting findings and insights to business leaders within Thermo Fisher Scientific will be a key aspect of this position, making it an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter to demonstrate their analytical skills and contribute significantly to the organization. The responsibilities of the Sr Sales Operations Analyst include providing standard revenue and performance reporting, collaborating with senior leadership to identify selling opportunities, preparing executive-level business reviews, performing ad-hoc data analysis, and driving internal improvements within the Sales Operations team. The role demands a strong understanding of data analytics and visualization tools, as well as the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into meaningful reports and actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Provide standard revenue and performance reporting/analysis, business reviews, build reports/sales tools, maintain systems infrastructure, and ad hoc analytics
  • Collaborate with Senior Sales Ops Leader, Sales VPs and GSD/CSD account owners to identify and drive GSD/CSD selling opportunities at specific accounts/territories globally
  • Partner across LSG divisions to complete customer analytics and business plan
  • Prepare executive-level quarterly and monthly business reviews and present to internal and external customers
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis for business units around customer, products and vendor dynamics
  • Identify, validate, and implement opportunities for sales performance improvements
  • Assist with maintaining Cognos/EDW and Power BI revenue reporting and provide training to sales team as needed
  • Assist with driving behavioral changes with the sales force to improve selling results and overall efficiency
  • Drive internal improvements and efficiencies within the Sales Operations team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a field requiring extensive analytical skills
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Life Sciences preferred
  • Knowledge of data analytics and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Excel, Salesforce, and SQL database querying
  • Strong understanding of analyzing sales and business data, synthesizing large volumes of data into meaningful and concise reports and actionable findings
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and partner with Pricing, Operations, Business Analytics, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial teams
  • Detail oriented and highly organized to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a multifaceted and fast-paced business environment
  • Ability to drive projects and activities to successful conclusions
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and respond to requests in a timely manner
