About the position

The Sr. Salesforce Developer at Optiv is tasked with delivering exceptional services to the internal organizations, with a primary focus on Salesforce development. This role encompasses managing the technical aspects of assigned projects, which includes planning, resolving issues, and independently converting requirements into Technical Design Specifications. The developer will be responsible for designing and writing code for various projects, ensuring that the technical development of software, particularly Salesforce, is managed from inception through to user acceptance. In addition to project management, the Sr. Salesforce Developer will implement best practices for operational support, enhancements, and bug fixes as necessary. The role requires utilizing Salesforce APIs to integrate with other systems within the organization, and developing solutions primarily in Salesforce using either Lightning Component Development or Classic UI. A deep understanding of APEX is essential, along with strong experience using the developer toolkit, which includes Apex Classes, Controllers, Triggers, Batch Apex, and Apex Web Services. The developer will also be responsible for Enterprise Application architecture, implementation, and management, architecting and delivering custom code on multiple large-scale implementations. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring that applications meet security standards, which involves creating applications that adhere to these standards and working with security assessors to review code and maintain detailed application/code documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical aspects of assigned projects, including planning and resolving issues.
  • Work independently to convert requirements into Technical Design Specifications.
  • Design and write code for assigned projects.
  • Manage technical development of software, primarily Salesforce, from inception through user acceptance.
  • Implement best practices for operational support, enhancements, and bug fixes as needed.
  • Utilize Salesforce APIs to integrate with other systems used in the organization.
  • Develop solutions in Salesforce using Lightning Component Development or Classic UI.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of APEX and experience with developer toolkit including Apex Classes, Controllers, Triggers, Batch Apex, and Apex Web Services.
  • Responsible for Enterprise Application architecture, implementation, and management.
  • Architect and deliver custom code on multiple large-scale implementations.
  • Create applications that meet security standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of IT experience as a Salesforce.com Developer.
  • Substantial experience using Lightning Aura, Lightning Web Components, and Visual Force Pages (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery) for Salesforce development.
  • Operations, development, and deployment experience.
  • Excellent detailed writing and communication skills.
  • Experience creating applications that meet security standards and working with security assessors to review code.
  • Proactive and willing to go beyond to satisfy the client and deliver on project goals.
  • Salesforce Certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with SOQL and SOSL languages, SOAP and REST web services.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages (OOP), Git, and Agile Scrum Methodology.
  • Familiarity with version control software like Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of the Salesforce ecosystem and how to integrate Apps via the AppExchange platform.
