The Sr. Scientist I, Bioinformatics position at Scribe Therapeutics involves developing computational tools and pipelines to support CRISPR-based therapeutic advancements. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to apply expertise in computational biology/bioinformatics.
  • Create computational pipelines to analyze multi-omics data, including genomic and epigenomic information.
  • Construct systems biology approaches to analyze integrative genomic and epigenomic datasets.
  • Own the data workflow for lead therapeutic programs, contributing to experimental design and primary analysis.
  • Use statistical methods and biological knowledge to generate new hypotheses and design experiments.
  • Build out the internal computational platform for scalable analysis and integration with automation.
  • Collaborate effectively within a fully integrated team to execute projects within established timelines.
  • Foster a dynamic and rigorous scientific environment.

Requirements

  • PhD with at least 5 years of experience in an academic or industry lab.
  • Proven track record of developing computational algorithms and statistical analysis for genomic datasets.
  • 5+ years experience in computational and statistical programming (python or R preferred).
  • Experience with unix command line, bioinformatic toolkits, version control systems (e.g. git), and workflow management (e.g. nextflow).
  • Strong quantitative reasoning, statistical analysis, and data visualization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration between wet and dry scientific teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CRISPR epigenetic editing systems and integrating multi-omic datasets.
  • Familiarity with protein or RNA structure and engineering approaches.
  • Experience deploying code in AWS cloud environment (EC2, S3, etc.).
  • Experience writing production code in a team setting.
