About the position

The Sr. Scrum Lead at NBCUniversal is responsible for guiding and coaching teams in the effective adoption of agile methodologies and practices. This role involves partnering with Engineering, Product, and stakeholders to enhance collaboration, remove impediments, and foster healthy team dynamics. The Sr. Scrum Lead will assess team maturity, facilitate agile ceremonies, and advocate for continuous improvement within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Guide and coach teams in the adoption of agile methodologies and practices.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and stakeholders to remove impediments and improve collaboration.
• Assess team maturity through dysfunction mapping and analysis.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Provide feedback to teams and individual contributors to enhance performance.
• Design processes for new agile teams and projects, including documentation and training.
• Utilize Atlassian project management tools (Jira, Confluence) effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills.
• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Lead or member of a high-performing Scrum Team.
• Skilled in assessing team and organizational maturity of agile capabilities.
• Expertise in coaching teams to achieve higher levels of maturity.
• Experienced in various agile methodologies and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, and XP.
• Ability to facilitate agile ceremonies and achieve milestones through data-driven forecasting.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledgeable about platform application development and internal systems development.
• Deep understanding of fostering psychological safety in team environments.
• Expert in dysfunction mapping and organizational change management.
• Certified Scrum Master, Scrum Product Owner, and/or Scrum Developer.
• Certified SAFe Practitioner.
