About the position

The Sr Scrum Master has primary responsibility of ensuring the effective application of Agile practices and Scrum framework to complex project execution and facilitating the learning and growth of one or more (typically multiple) Agile teams in developing a lean-Agile mindset, improving practices, and guiding them to more predictable delivery. The Sr Scrum Master plays a role in facilitating Agile ceremonies, planning of releases, removing impediments, providing guidance, and supporting Agile teams as well as modeling and promoting Agile values and principles.

Responsibilities

• Self-led enabling self-organizing teams through effective Lean-Agile practices and facilitating all Scrum ceremonies.
• Ensures team understanding of Scrum principles, maintaining a value-focused approach throughout iterations.
• Acts as a change agent, leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, predictability, and flow.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to advocate for technical best practices and refines backlog with product owners.
• Mentors multiple Scrum Masters, facilitates multi-team events, and provides guidance on Agile best practices to leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience with at least 3 years as a Scrum Master, demonstrating proficiency in multiple Agile disciplines.
• Extensive experience facilitating interactions with distributed agile teams and formal coaching experience preferred.
• Expert in Scrum, XP, Kanban, and/or SAFe, with a proven ability to guide teams in achieving sprint and release goals.
• Strong communication skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with stakeholders and resolving conflicts in medium to large group discussions.
• Experience mentoring Scrum Masters, launching self-sustaining Agile teams, and a desire to improve Agile practices within the IHG community.
