About the position
The Sr Signal Integrity Architect position at Lenovo involves leading the design and verification of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) hardware and layout designs within the Cloud Service Provider Group. This role is crucial for addressing signal integrity and power integrity challenges in collaboration with design engineers and system teams, ensuring high-quality and productive design methodologies for server, storage, and GPU systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform SI simulation during new server/storage/GPU system concepts
- Define and develop design methodologies to improve design quality and productivity
- Support the signal integrity design for various server boards
- Research PCB materials and evaluate PCB stackups
- Perform PCB layout reviews
- Create actionable recommendations based upon design reviews
- Guide connector design and component qualifications from a signal integrity standpoint
- Collaborate with the system architect to determine the best routing design to meet various requirements
- Research new technology and trends that would impact system SI
Requirements
- BSEE or BSCE degree required
- 10+ years experience
- Experience with simulation tools such as Sigrity, Hyperlynx SI/PI, ADS, and HSPICE
- Experience with HFSS, ADS, Cadence SI/PI suite, and Hspice
Nice-to-haves
- A Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering
- Hyperscale/Cloud experience
- Experience in direct customer engagements
- Experience with 3D EM Field Solvers
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication process
- Experience correlating simulation results with lab measurements
- Experience with SERDES simulation
- Deep knowledge of X86 Intel/AMD server architecture
- Ability to interface with Lenovo and customer executives
- Strong leadership skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Ability to work effectively cross-culturally across teams in the US and Asia
