About the position

The Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position at Apple Services Engineering involves designing, building, and maintaining core infrastructure that supports various Apple services, including the App Store, Apple Music, Books, and Podcasts. The role requires collaboration with multi-functional teams to implement reliable and scalable solutions, manage incident responses, and integrate new technologies to enhance system performance and security. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand requirements and design reliability solutions.
• Implement resilient and scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Play a vital role in incident response to diagnose and resolve problems.
• Minimize outages and downtime in a high-pressure environment.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve system reliability, security, and performance.
• Develop and implement automation for provisioning, configuring, deploying, and monitoring infrastructure components.

Requirements

• 10+ years in Site Reliability Engineering or a DevOps focused role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical background.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix.
• Experience in deploying and managing infrastructure using configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.
• Troubleshooting and debugging experience.
• Previous networking experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to autonomously manage cross-functional projects and communicate expectations.
• Experience supporting data center operations and distributed systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes and virtualization.
• Experience with Docker.
• Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines.
