About the position

The Senior Software Architect for Enrollment at HealthEquity is responsible for leading the architectural design of reimbursement account software. This role involves making critical architectural decisions, managing system frameworks, and collaborating with engineering teams to implement software features. The architect will also mentor other engineers and promote best practices within the organization, contributing to the company's mission of empowering individuals in managing their healthcare expenses and financial wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architectural decisions around code organization, tooling, and processes for enrollment account software.
  • Manage the lifecycle of system frameworks, libraries, and tooling.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to design and implement software features.
  • Define, document, and communicate the strategy and roadmap for enrollment account system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, leaders, and products to champion best practices and communicate architectural vision.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers to create a culture of software excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience working as a software engineer in enterprise systems.
  • 5+ years in a tech-lead or architect capacity designing and implementing enterprise software.
  • Deep knowledge and application of software design principles and patterns.
  • Experience writing software in a .NET environment using C#.
  • Experience designing Azure Cloud applications in an Enterprise microservice environment.
  • Experience designing for security and compliance including Authentication, Authorization, PHI, PII, and PCI.
  • Experience working with relational and document data storage solutions; Preference for Microsoft SQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience working in event-driven systems; Preference for Apache Kafka and Azure Service Bus.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others across multiple teams.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
