About the position

The Sr. Software Architect will play a crucial role in overseeing the development and launch of software products for the company. This position balances technical responsibilities with management duties, leading a team of software developers while collaborating with customers and ensuring high-quality software development processes. The architect will also be involved in budgeting, proposals, and recruiting efforts to enhance the software development team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical team of software developers.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and requirements.
• Utilize software development tools to report project status.
• Assist in budgeting, bids, and proposals for new and existing business.
• Review software development processes and products to ensure quality and productivity.
• Participate in recruiting efforts for software development talent.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, design, and development.
• Thought leadership experience in software architecture.
• Experience developing software products.
• Experience with new business proposals.
• Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in C++, C, and Python programming languages.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; a PhD or master's degree is a plus.
• Experience working for a small to midsize company.
