About the position

The Sr. Software Developer position at CAI is a part-time, remote role focused on developing advanced mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mobile app development, particularly with Swift and Kotlin, and will be responsible for the entire application lifecycle, from design to support. This role involves collaborating with the product development team to implement new features and ensure quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building advanced applications for the iOS and Android platforms
  • Developing features for new requirements and functionality across IOT's iOS/Android mobile app platforms using Jetpack Compose in Kotlin and SwiftUI/Swift
  • Triaging and correcting mobile app defects
  • Supporting the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support)
  • Designing and building iOS Swift and Android Kotlin mobile applications
  • Fully responsible for native mobile app development in the team
  • Producing fully functional mobile applications by writing clean code
  • Gathering specific requirements and suggesting solutions
  • Writing unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions
  • Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance
  • Designing interfaces to improve user experience
  • Liaising with the product development team to plan new features
  • Ensuring new and legacy applications meet quality standards
  • Researching and suggesting new mobile products, applications, and protocols
  • Staying up to date with new technology trends

Requirements

  • Strong experience in iOS Swift and SwiftUI
  • Strong experience using Jetpack Compose in Kotlin
  • Experience as an iOS/Android mobile app developer
  • Experience working with git-based source control on a development team
  • Knowledge of Android Kotlin
  • Proven working experience in software development
  • Published one or more iOS apps in the app store
  • Experience working with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, Core Graphics, and Core Text
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Apache Cordova for Android and iOS
  • Experience with Objective C and legacy Android apps written in Java
  • Viewable mobile application portfolio
