About the position
The Sr. Software Developer at BITCO Corporation is a key member of the Applications Development team within the Information Technology department. This role involves coding, designing, modifying, and testing computer programs to meet the needs of various customers in specialized industries such as construction and oil & gas. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and requires strong technical skills and knowledge across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Create specifications, design, and develop solutions to meet customer needs.
- Provide training and mentorship to Software Developers.
- Consult with internal and external customers to define application requirements and specifications.
- Ensure applications are performant and troubleshoot issues by analyzing program logic.
- Lead or actively participate in resolving issues.
- Write, test, and debug complex programs.
- Prepare and review complex test data.
- Document program information and procedures.
- Perform other programming duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Highly proficient in systems analysis, design, and programming.
- Experience in maintaining and writing code in C#, VB.Net, and VB6.
- Knowledge of database systems and writing queries in SQL, Oracle, and DB2.
- Experience in website building and programming practices, including ASP and MVC.
- Ability to gather requirements, analyze feasibility, and design solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify complex issues and determine resolutions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project lifecycles.
- Self-development and adoption of new technical skills.
- Ability to prioritize a large workload while maintaining urgency.
- Proven independent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration with internal and external customers.
- Ability to provide rotating on-call support for production systems.
