About the position

We are seeking a talented Sr. Software Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing software code and maintain complex business systems programs. You will be working closely with other software developers, business analysts, and business stakeholders to develop and maintain complex business applications within a cloud environment. You will work within an Agile/Scrum environment, providing technical expertise and mentorship to junior team members. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management, business departments and business partners to identify end-user requirements and needs.
  • Design and develop specifications, code, test, and debug complex programs, taking into consideration computer equipment capacity and systems limitations, to meet performance standards.
  • Deploy software programs and code changes into production.
  • Perform day-to-day activities for the application development within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Adhere to and support coding standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance / direction for less experienced analyst/programmers in the design, development and construction of new Business Systems and enhancements.
  • Support and maintain the production operation of large systems consisting of multiple sub-systems.
  • Develop and/or update program documentation.
  • Provide recommendations to management which lead to improvements of performance metrics.
  • Participate in the development/customization of the Business Systems infrastructure, and internal I.T. Department standards and procedures.
  • Perform project leadership role for development of a major project, or several smaller projects and/or enhancement projects, including supervising activities of personnel and providing approvals for deployment of software code changes into production.
  • Perform project leadership role which include developing project plans, including estimates and schedules, system test plans, system test cases, integrated test plans, implementation plans and complete Quality Assurance requirements or otherwise assist in these tasks.
  • Perform project leadership role which includes assisting in personnel actions such as appraisals, coaching, etc.

Requirements

  • 7+ years prior business programming experience.
  • Comprehensive System Design/Analysis skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of a combination of coding tools and platforms, such as: Languages: JAVA, .NET, PLSQL, Microsoft PowerShell.
  • DBMS: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle DB.
  • Operating Systems: Linux, Microsoft Windows 2019.
  • Application Platforms: WebSphere, Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Communications: FTP, SFTP, IPSEC, Connect Direct.
  • PC software: Microsoft Office (word, excel, access, PowerPoint, project, and visio); variable development tools where applicable: IBM RAD, Adobe Acrobat DC Suite, MSDN, IntelliJ IDE, Talend ETL, Jira, Service Now, Git.
  • Advanced knowledge in planning, estimating and using project management skills, procedures and techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical trends to assist in planning and implementing strategic development methodologies, platforms, and software tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
