About the position

The Sr. Software Development Engineer for Alexa Audio Radio Experience will play a crucial role in transforming how users enjoy music on Alexa. This position involves leading the development and maintenance of key system features, working collaboratively with team members to explore design approaches, and delivering high-quality software in an Agile/Scrum environment. Responsibilities

• Leading development and maintenance of key system features
• Working with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility
• Working in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against strict timelines

Requirements

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Nice-to-haves

• 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality
