About the position

The Senior Software Development Engineer will be responsible for building and owning server-related firmware within the AWS Firmware team. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers to create innovative and scalable solutions for real-world data center infrastructure challenges. The engineer will engage in development efforts across various technology domains, from embedded software to large-scale distributed systems, utilizing both proprietary and open-source technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own server-related firmware.
  • Collaborate with a team of software developers to create scalable solutions.
  • Engage in development efforts for embedded software and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Validate and support firmware across diverse technology domains.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead.
  • Experience developing embedded systems.
  • Experience with software development for server platforms.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Shell.
  • Understanding of Intel architecture.
  • Understanding of server platform design and architecture.
  • Experience with IPMI and BMC development.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience with server platform design and architecture.
  • 5+ years of experience with IPMI and BMC development.
