About the position
Ecolab is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Software Development Engineer to join our team, focusing on the efficient operation, health, and hygiene of the Enterprise Data Office. This role is pivotal as we expand our data footprint, particularly within the Modern Analytics Platform (MAP). The successful candidate will be hands-on in developing solutions and will collaborate closely with architects, project delivery teams, and Operations teams to ensure the platform's success. In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and health of the Snowflake Environment. You will govern and enforce Azure and Snowflake security standards, design and develop scalable cloud-native solutions, and research and implement reliable software to support the execution and delivery of business requirements in the Snowflake Platform. Additionally, you will engage in hands-on development of tools to facilitate automation and operability of platform services, enhance the monitoring and auditing of systems, and create automation for dashboards. Your role will also include governing and enforcing environment hygiene and providing technical and troubleshooting consulting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for day-to-day Operations and Health of the Snowflake Environment
- Govern and enforce Azure and Snowflake security standards
- Design and develop scalable cloud native solutions
- Research and implement reliable software to support the execution and delivery of business requirements in the Snowflake Platform
- Hands-on development of tools to facilitate automation and operability of platform services
- Enhancing the monitoring/auditing of Systems and creating automation for Dashboards
- Govern and enforce environment hygiene
- Provide Technical and Troubleshooting Consulting (Technical SME)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field
- 8 years' experience in Software Engineering platform team in a Cloud, SaaS environment and supporting critical services
- 5 years of hands-on experience in coding (Python, Java, JavaScript)
- Experienced in Front end development and an understanding of SDLC
- Experienced in building RESTful web services
- Proficient in Relational Databases (SQL, Oracle)
- Experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Azure in particular
- Familiarity in delivery process via CI/CD implementation
- Ability to communicate to audiences with varying technical level
- Self-driven and motivated, with a strong work ethic and passion for problem solving
- Extremely strong fundamental computer science skills
Nice-to-haves
- Cloud data warehouse implementation experience with Snowflake
- Prior System Operations experience with data warehouses/databases
