About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer - DevSecOps/Cyber Focus at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and efficiency of software development processes. This position involves leading engineering teams to design, deploy, and maintain secure cloud products and services, while also developing software solutions and CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with developers, data engineers, and data scientists to create web applications that support data management and security, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams to ensure products are free from security vulnerabilities.
• Design, deploy, operate, and maintain secure cloud products and services.
• Develop information systems by studying operations and designing software solutions.
• Support and develop software teams in Agile project management methodologies.
• Create web applications using Ruby on Rails or Django/Python on Linux deployed in AWS.
• Review projects for robust and scalable solutions, incorporating new technologies as needed.
• Support database engineering with Python using AWS Lambda.
• Develop and enforce security policies for data and software applications.
• Conduct system audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure security compliance.
• Review code for security and compliance with coding standards.
• Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) for security issues.
• Prepare incident reports and ensure compliance with regulations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in software development and security.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS services and cloud security best practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Confluence, Jira, and Slack.
• Knowledge of database management with MySQL and RedShift.
