About the position

The Sr. Software Engineer - DevSecOps at Ford Motor Company will play a pivotal role in transforming the company's infrastructure solutions to support the next generation eCommerce platform. This position involves developing and deploying scalable cloud-based solutions, enhancing customer experiences, and leveraging advanced technology to redefine the transportation landscape. The engineer will work closely with product teams to create robust autonomous solutions, focusing on automation and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and operate the deployment and orchestration of complex distributed systems.
  • Identify, reduce, or eliminate toil via automation to maximize engineering and innovation time.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery systems.
  • Design cloud platform solutions and critical use-cases, providing guidance to software engineers.
  • Interact with the architecture community to share and learn new technologies and best practices.
  • Leverage open-source technologies using public clouds and mentor engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of DevOps/Software Engineering experience.
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed cloud platforms and solutions.
  • GCP Administration experience, ensuring high availability of infrastructure and overall support.
  • Experience with GCP-specific services like Compute Engine, App Engine, GKE, and others.
  • Expertise in automating infrastructure as code using Terraform, Packer, and Ansible.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Java.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, including Azure.
  • Experience with React or Angular development.
  • Experience in implementing auto-scaling, disaster recovery, high availability, and multi-regional best practices.
