About the position

As a Sr. Simulation Software Engineer on the Starlink GNC team at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the in-house vehicle dynamics simulator and related infrastructure. This position involves working on Monte Carlo simulations, hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulations, and GNC-specific data visualization. You will be responsible for enhancing the core simulation infrastructure and collaborating with engineering teams to create accurate models that represent multi-body physics and vehicle dynamics. This high-impact role requires a strong background in software engineering and a passion for tackling complex challenges in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain in-house simulator for Starlink and improve its performance and capabilities.
  • Enhance the SpaceX GNC Monte Carlo simulation infrastructure for Starlink.
  • Collaborate with simulation software users to develop new features and improve user experience.
  • Optimize reliability and performance of simulation software through continuous integration and profiling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline and 5+ years of experience in software development; OR 7+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years development experience in C/C++.
  • Professional experience developing/maintaining simulation software.
