About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer of the Sphera Government Solutions product line, you will have a critical role in designing and developing the next generation of our products, used by the U.S. Government. You will work closely with team members across the globe, utilize Microservices architecture, and modern DevOps processes and tools to deliver high-quality software.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience designing and building enterprise web applications and performing data-driven software applications. Knowledge in Environment, Health, and Safety software is beneficial.
  • Previous experience working as a React.js developer.
  • Core strengths on Typescript, JavaScript, NodeJS.
  • Expertise with front-end technologies ReactJS, Redux, Saga, HTML5, CSS3, Material UI.
  • Strong experience in React Hooks and Context.
  • Experience with Responsive designs, Material Design Systems.
  • Experience with WCAG and implementing 508 compliant solutions.
  • Sound knowledge of REST services and best practices.
  • Knowledge in bundling with Babel, Webpack.
  • Experience developing secure code meeting OWASP standards.
  • Familiarity with Microservices Architecture.
  • Experience practicing Scrum/Kanban and ability to adapt to Scrum values.

Responsibilities

  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Promote Agile Scrum practices and values and potentially play the Scrum Master role.
  • Collaborate with product owners to define/refine requirements, break down into development tasks, estimate effort, and plan milestones & deliverables.
  • Actively participate in the software solution development and guide the system architecture roadmap and the key technical decisions.
  • Ensure ease-of-use, ease-of-support, robustness, scalability, and security are always key ingredients to the recommended design solutions.
  • Provide L3/L4 support as user issues are escalated.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with customers to solve critical issues.
  • Be a proactive team member who contributes, collaborates, and demonstrates positive behavior.
  • Advocate for simplicity, reliability, manageability, reusability, and performance.
  • Mentor and lead more junior members of the team when appropriate.
