About the position

The Sr. Software Engineer Manager (Leadership) - Infrastructure at Empass Healthcare, Inc. is a pivotal role that involves partnering with senior executives to oversee product engineering initiatives. The successful candidate will lead the research and development of new products, ensuring legal compliance and minimizing exposure risks. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to adapt to changing priorities, and effective management of engineering teams to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research and development of new products as per the company's product development plan.
  • Coordinate activities of engineering personnel and outside consultants/contractors.
  • Develop engineering action plans for timely and cost-effective project development.
  • Prepare and review engineering change requests and oversee implementation of engineering change notices.
  • Assist in the development of processes, tooling, and molds for new products.
  • Provide training and support to Customer Service and Sales & Marketing Departments on new products.
  • Perform other engineering duties as assigned by the Vice President of Production and Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
  • 12+ years of experience building server applications.
  • Experience leading projects with industry-wide impact.
  • Proven track record of planning multi-year roadmaps that align with long-term vision.
  • Significant experience mentoring and influencing senior engineers across organizations.
  • Advanced experience in EHR and/or healthcare-related data, standards, modeling, and transformations.
  • Professional experience in back-end and API integration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with operating system internals, filesystems, programming language design, and compilers.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
  • Advanced proficiency with C#, Java, Python, SOAP, REST Web Services, SQL, and AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and Docker.
  • Experience with healthcare technologies like Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR).
