About the position

The Sr. Software Engineer (Multimedia - Audio) role at Amazon focuses on innovating audio frameworks for consumer devices, including Alexa and FireTV. Responsibilities

• Design multimedia deliverables in collaboration with application, OS, and product teams.
• Own the HAL, Middleware, and Client stack end to end.
• Engage in full stack development for multimedia applications.
• Conduct core architecture work and write work-backwards documents to address customer problems.
• Collaborate with cross-organizational teams and Principal Engineers to develop products and solve complex issues.
• Write code, debug, and test software while working with QAs and customer service to enhance user experiences.
• Present results and findings to senior leadership.
• Research new technologies and contribute to the development of new tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
