About the position

The Sr. Software Engineer at F&G is responsible for coding, testing, and documenting software solutions while performing tests to validate the code. This role involves writing progressively complex code, independently solving problems, and leading other developers through feature updates and code management. The engineer will also design high-performing software solutions that adhere to the company's development methodologies and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and document software solutions that are high performing and intuitive.
• Perform unit, regression, security, and load tests to validate code readiness for production.
• Design and develop complex integrations and perform impact analysis for interface/system changes.
• Develop estimates for project and maintenance work.
• Assist with the design of architecture and solutions, translating business problems into functional solutions.
• Lead technical aspects of one or more applications within the function.
• Maintain technical ownership of business-facing technologies to deliver outcomes.
• Interact with clients and stakeholders, supporting integration efforts with various IT teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS or equivalent experience.
• 4-7 years of hands-on technical experience in designing and building applications and interfaces.
• Experience with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
• Significant experience with integration tools and cloud technologies.
• Expert understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with Azure or AWS cloud development tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience supporting integrations in the insurance industry.
• Familiarity with Accord XML and Rest API.
