About the position

The Sr Software Engineer (Vice President) role at SMBC involves working within the XVA development team to build and maintain simulation applications and tools for the XVA desk and related departments. Responsibilities

• Support in-house and external software solutions for daily XVA analysis.
• Troubleshoot production environment issues to meet SLAs.
• Design and implement robust application architecture for new products or functionalities.
• Collaborate with business teams to address Credit Risk analysis inquiries.
• Improve software performance and operational efficiency.
• Conduct studies on new technology for development.
• Manage mission-critical projects and provide technical support for development and operations.
• Understand business requirements and process gaps with stakeholders.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Work collaboratively with global teams and solve problems independently.
• Participate in development meetings to align priorities and share knowledge.
• Assist in training and mentoring development team members.
• Work with technology vendors to deploy product solutions.

Requirements

• Practical experience in system architecture and software application development.
• Proficient in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.
• Experience in automating processes via scripting languages.
• Strong background in mathematical finance and analytical skills related to financial products, XVA, and credit risks.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues.
• Understanding of technical, infrastructure, data, and security requirements for developed solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of recovery solutions and high availability architectures.
