About the position

The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group at Wells Fargo is dedicated to providing technology solutions and support across various business lines, including Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations. This group is also responsible for delivering innovative technology solutions for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. The portfolio of applications and tools is continuously engineered to address challenges related to stability, security, scalability, and speed. We are currently seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead and transform the EFT Cloud and Engineering practice. This role encompasses managing complex solutions and ecosystems that deliver time-critical service enablement and capabilities. The successful candidate will be accountable for leveraging, building, and enabling cloud-based services and solutions across EFT, ensuring that all new solutions adhere to enterprise standards and meet non-functional requirements with each release. In this position, you will manage, coach, and develop a team of experienced engineers and engineering managers, driving the standardization of existing EFT solutions. You will also identify and recommend opportunities for resolving technology roadblocks, manage the overall software development cycle, and ensure compliance with security standards. Additionally, you will partner with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology's technical strategies, enabling application migration paths to target architecture, such as cloud readiness and application modernization. As the technical representative for the product, you will collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to drive user satisfaction and influence technology requirements in the product roadmap. You will also manage the allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering. Furthermore, you will be responsible for hiring and developing talent to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of experienced engineers and engineering managers.
  • Lead and transform the Cloud and Engineering function in collaboration with technology partners.
  • Drive standardization of existing EFT solutions and ensure new solutions meet Enterprise standards.
  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture and non-functional requirements with each release.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks.
  • Manage overall software development cycle and security standards.
  • Identify and develop automation opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Partner with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies.
  • Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts.
  • Interpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within technology functions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction and influence technology requirements.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met.
  • Hire, build, and guide a culture of talent development.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 6+ years of experience in managing, enabling, migrating to, and building solutions in private and public cloud environments such as Azure, GCP, or PCF.
  • 3+ years of Management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience with Database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Postgres.
  • 5+ years of experience with Messaging technologies such as Kafka, MQ.
  • 5+ years of experience with Programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, HTML, JS, React.
  • Ability to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a complex environment.
  • Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of application or software security practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at multiple levels.
  • Experience in providing thought-leadership and expertise to develop robust solutions.
  • Ability to engage effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts, and Site Reliability Engineering principles.
