About the position

The Sr. Software Engineering Manager at AT&T Services, Inc. is responsible for leading the strategic alignment of application development roadmaps with enterprise strategies. This role involves providing technical design and architectural leadership across multiple teams and projects, ensuring applications are integrated and adhere to architectural standards. The position allows for hands-on engineering work while driving the development and implementation of technology-enabled solutions. The manager will oversee key initiatives, particularly in Order Management and post-purchase capabilities, and will supervise a team of engineers and analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic alignment of application development roadmaps to enterprise strategies.
  • Provide technical design and architectural leadership to multiple teams and projects.
  • Drive efforts to architect, design, develop, and implement technology-enabled business solutions.
  • Research, analyze, and recommend new technologies and standard processes.
  • Review business process and technical solution designs for appropriate technology selection.
  • Own key initiatives and deliverables in Order Management and post-purchase capabilities.
  • Provide functional and technical leadership to Lead Engineers, Architects, Product Managers, and Quality Analysts.
  • Enforce company policies in development methodology, architecture, security, and compliance.
  • Perform complex engineering activities for performance tuning and production support.
  • Supervise application delivery and manage a team of engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in software engineering or a related field.
  • Experience supervising application delivery and leading teams.
  • Expertise in building Java-based high-volume/high-transaction e-commerce applications.
  • Experience with web applications using Java, Spring, and REST.
  • Experience reviewing Order Management and post-purchase experiences.
