About the position

The Sr. Software QA Engineer at KLA will play a crucial role in the software development life cycle, focusing on establishing test scenarios that validate the functionality and adaptability of the software developed. This position involves developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards for the company's products, ensuring that they meet the high expectations of the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The engineer will interact with multi-site team members located in India and Israel throughout the software product life cycle, engaging in requirement analysis, test plan preparation, and testing activities. In this dynamic role, the engineer will collaborate with hardware and systems/application groups to comprehend system requirements and translate them into software testing needs. The responsibilities extend to participating in all stages of software development, including deployment and troubleshooting at customer sites. The engineer will review software design, change specifications, and plans against process requirements, ensuring that all reviews encompass applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Additionally, the engineer will coordinate the verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability, while developing and maintaining standards for quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures. The role also includes ensuring that corrective measures align with acceptable quality standards and that project and process control documentation comply with requirements. The engineer will develop and execute software test plans, analyze and document test results, and recommend corrective actions based on the analysis of test results to ensure existing functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain quality standards for company products.
  • Interact with multi-site team members during the software product life cycle for requirement analysis, test plan preparation, and testing.
  • Work with hardware and systems/application groups to understand system requirements and map them to software testing needs.
  • Participate in all stages of software development including deployment and troubleshooting at customer sites.
  • Review software design, change specifications, and plans against process requirements.
  • Perform or coordinate verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.
  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain standards for quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable quality standards.
  • Ensure that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements.
  • Develop and perform software test plans.
  • Analyze and write test standards and procedures.
  • Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
  • Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree or Master's Level Degree with related working experience of 3 - 7 years.
  • Experience with large software systems/tool applications is helpful.
  • Basic coding skills in Python or C#.
  • Ability to technically interact with Algorithms, System Engineering, Application Engineering, Marketing, and Manufacturing, Customer Support teams for various needs across the globe.
  • Technical lead experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and work during day and graveyard shifts on a rotational basis.
