About the position

As a Senior Software QA Engineer at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of LabVIEW software applications utilized in various testing environments, including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supplier testing. Your primary responsibilities will involve developing comprehensive test plans that validate these software applications, ensuring they meet the required specifications and performance standards. You will design and create detailed test cases and procedures that will guide the testing process, allowing for systematic execution and thorough evaluation of software functionality. In this position, you will execute the test cases you have developed, maintaining an auditable storage and retrieval system for all test results. This will require you to participate actively in defining software requirements, analyzing them for completeness, and contributing to the creation of operational use cases. Your involvement in design reviews will be essential to ensure that all requirements are accurately reflected in the design documentation. You will also be responsible for analyzing test results and providing regular progress reports to both engineers and management, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of the testing status. Writing test procedures for deploying software applications to end-users will be part of your duties, as will participating in training sessions for users of the test software. Additionally, you will collect data on any problems or issues encountered during testing and provide constructive feedback to development teams to facilitate root cause analysis and resolution. Your role will also involve configuring the necessary test equipment, which includes setting up test computers, data acquisition systems, cables, and device drivers. You will validate the functionality of new test equipment and evaluate the electrical, software, optical, and electromagnetic components of the laser system and its modules to create all necessary test cases. This multifaceted role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans to validate LabVIEW software applications used in Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supplier testing.
  • Design and create test cases and procedures for testing software functionality.
  • Execute test cases and maintain an auditable storage and retrieval of test results.
  • Participate in the definition of software requirements.
  • Analyze software requirements for completeness and participate in the creation of operational use cases.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure requirements have been flowed down into the appropriate design documentation.
  • Analyze test results and provide progress reports to engineers and management.
  • Write test procedures needed to deploy software applications to the final users.
  • Participate in the training of the test software users.
  • Collect data on problems and issues and provide feedback to the development teams for implementation of root cause solutions.
  • Configure the test equipment required to run the test software applications.
  • Validate new test equipment functionality.
  • Evaluate the electrical, software, optical, and electromagnetic components of the laser system and its modules in order to create all the necessary test cases.

Requirements
